People ask me all the time how they can increase traffic to their Websites. The first thing I usually ask them back is, “Why do you want more Traffic? What is the purpose of your Website? How will getting Traffic benefit you?” You’ll be surprised at how many people don’t know how to benefit from more traffic, yet they still want to know How to Increase Traffic to their Website.

So, first things first – have a purpose! Usually this purpose is monetizing your Site. Whether it be Google Adwords, Commission Junction or another Affiliate Program, Traffic to you Site is really nothing but an Ego booster unless you have it Monetized in some way.

Second, what are you selling/advertising/recommending? Before you target the traffic you want you need to know what you are selling and it’s competition. This is important when it comes to finding a Keyword to market. When choosing Keywords you will want to look for low competition, high converting ones. Know that reason and be sure to have a Website that is updated frequently and gives valuable information to your readers. Never underestimate the power of content. Remember, “If you build it, they will come”.
